Google’s initiative aims to empower jobseekers and help small businesses thrive in the digital economy

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 15, 2019) — Media is invited to Google’s free "Grow with Google" workshop in Davenport on April 17, 9:30AM-4:30PM, at the Davenport Public Library. The tech-company’s economic opportunity-initiative aims to help job-seekers and small-businesses learn the digital-skills they need to succeed through onsite instructional-training led by visiting Google teams, presenters, and coaches.

Representative Dave Loebsack will kick off the event at 11:30AM with remarks highlighting the importance of computer-training and digital-skills.

Grow with Google is on a national tour in partnership with America’s libraries. The tour will host digital-skills workshops in libraries in all 50 states and will aim to support libraries’ digital-skills offerings on an ongoing basis. Three-quarters of public libraries assist patrons with job-applications and interviewing-skills, and 90% offer basic digital-skills training.
