BETTENDORF, IOWA (September 20, 2022) — Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream is excited to invite kids and families from across the Quad Cities to one of their most favorite events.
Happy Joe’s is once again hosting its annual Kids Micro Marathon in conjunction with the TBK Quad Cities Marathon. The micro marathon is set for noon on Saturday, September 24, next to the Vibrant Arena (formally TaxSlayer) in Moline, Illinois. The event features three options for children of all ages and abilities including one-mile, quarter-mile, and half-mile races.
“This race has been a wonderful September tradition for Happy Joe’s and all of the amazing families in the Quad Cities and surrounding areas,” said Happy Joe’s VP of Marketing Kristel Ersan. “We are so honored to be to be sponsoring it once again this year and look forward to having fun with everyone Saturday.”
All children registered will receive an official Kids Micro Marathon medal, T-shirt, Happy Joe’s swag bag and FREE pizza upon completion of their race. Registration is open until 11:30AM and can be completed online or at the race day booth. Cost is $20 and families can register their children at qcmarathon.org/kids-micromarathon.

Before or after the marathon, children can enjoy all kinds of fun including inflatables, face-painting, games, and other activities. There will also be a performance by the Happy Joe’s hip-hop dance team and an appearance from the brand’s mascot, Happy the Dog, and other local celebrity mascots, who will be available for photos and hugs.
All participants are asked to check in to get their goodie bags and T-shirts at the Happy Joe’s Kids Micro Marathon booth thirty minutes prior to the start of the races. Parking is available west of the Vibrant Arena Center.
