MOLINE, ILLINOIS (June 17, 2024) — The House Flies, a captivating band that cannot be categorized into a specific genre, originating from Moline, Illinois, announce their new album called Mannequin Deposit, to be released on July 2. This release will be an interesting addition to the post-punk, goth rock, alternative, shoegaze, and grunge styles.
To whet the appetite of the fans, The House Flies released their enchanting single, “She Hums Mozart” on June 4. This song is the first taste of the sound that is present in Mannequin Deposit and showcases the band’s talent for crafting atmospheric music and thought-provoking lyrics. Future singles will be Sequin, Queen Underground, and Marrow.
The House Flies — vocalist/guitarist Alex Riggen, drummer Nick Pompou, and bassist Ozzie Woods — are a band that has been compared to The Cure, Smashing Pumpkins, and Joy Division due to the layered and textured sound of their music. Their music is full of dreamy guitar and bass, vocals that are both haunting and beautiful, and atmospheric tracks that transport the listener.
“She Hums Mozart” is the epitome of the band’s sound and concept. The lyrics of the track are thought-provoking, and the music is enchanting, thus, the song will appeal to both the old and new generation of listeners.
Alex Riggen and Nick Pompou are also the members of the outstanding post-metal grunge band Murnau, which has produced four albums since 2008. This is a great experience which adds depth and maturity to their music with The House Flies and once again proves their abilities.
