DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 15, 2019) — Every Tuesday in the month of March, Davenport Public Library will welcome experts to lead discussions about living healthier lifestyles:

March 5 will feature "How Not to Die: The Relationship Between Food and Chronic Disease " presented by Beth Bryant, DPT. Bryant is an orthopedic physical therapist who has been in practice for 35 years. She attended Augustana College for her undergraduate and Northwestern University for her PT degree. Later she received both an MBA and a Doctorate in PT from St Ambrose University. March 12 will feature "How Not to Die: Whole Food Plant-Based Cooking 101 with Demo" presented by Anne Haring. Haring is the owner of Recipe for Life and a whole-food, plant-based cooking coach. In 2011, after 15 years as a demo chef, she discovered the power of eating a WFPB diet to prevent and reverse chronic disease. Anne is passionate about helping others learn to make simple and delicious whole, plant-based food so their journey to better health is filled with support, excitement, and success!

March 19 will feature “Popeye or Wimpy: Fitness and Functionality on a Whole Food, Plant-Based Lifestyle”, presented by Teri and Del Preston. The Prestons started this journey about 6 years ago after watching "Forks Over Knives" and reading The China Study. Even though they were already attending classes regularly at the Y, they quickly felt improvement and all areas of physical activity. They stay fit by running marathons, ultras, Ragnar relays and cycling (RAGBRAI). March 26 feature "How Not to Die: Lifestyle Medicine: Putting Evidence into Action to Rebalance the Health/Disease Equation" presented by Dr. Cheryl True. Dr. Cheryl True is a Quad Cities native, a graduate of Augustana College, and the University of Iowa College of Medicine. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine, and was honored to be one of the first 204 physicians recognized as diplomats with Board Certification in the new, growing specialty of Lifestyle Medicine.
