Members of cast of "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying": Madison Duling (Rosemary), Tiffany McClure (Hedy LaRue), Jeff Gomez (Bud Frump), and David Bowles Edwards (J Pierrepont Finch)

DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 19, 2019) — The Performing Arts Series at First Presbyterian Church concludes its season with its biennial tradition of producing a Broadway musical. On June 29, 7:30PM, and June 3, 4PM, the many talents of First Presbyterian Church will be on full display in Frank Loesser and Abe Burrow’s Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning musical How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying. This brilliant comedy lampoons corporate culture in 1960s America. This production features in-house talent and a top-notch creative team from the church that handles set-design, props, costuming, choreography, and direction. The production also features a live band of talented musicians from the Quad Cities to play its musically rich and diverse score.

Joining the cast as narrator is a local celebrity, WQAD News 8’s Angie Sharp. Sharp is no stranger to theatre, having been part of the cast for a production of the same show at her high school (Downers Grove South High School outside of Chicago) fifteen years ago as a “dancing secretary.” She says she “was overjoyed when asked to be a part of this production” as it allows her to “return to one of my passions — musical theatre.”

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and may be purchased during regular business hours in the church office (1702 Iowa Street, Davenport), by calling the office at 563-326-1691, or online at fpcdavenport.org/PAS.htm.
