DES MOINES, IOWA (April 29, 2021) — This week, the city of Davenport hosted a session where they unveiled options being considered to ease or mitigate future flooding from the Mississippi River. The city has been considering flood-response options since the historical flooding in 2019. The proposed solutions include different combinations of flood-prevention strategies, including a flood walls, berms, and raised roads.
The city is seeking residents' input for their study. As a Davenport resident, you are invited to complete a flood survey by Friday, April 30. An online informational video is available to provide more context and information.
