DES MOINES, IOWA (April 29, 2021) This week, the city of Davenport hosted a session where they unveiled options being considered to ease or mitigate future flooding from the Mississippi River. The city has been considering flood-response options since the historical flooding in 2019. The proposed solutions include different combinations of flood-prevention strategies, including a flood walls, berms, and raised roads.

The city is seeking residents' input for their study. As a Davenport resident, you are invited to complete a flood survey by Friday, April 30. An online informational video is available to provide more context and information.

We hope you will take a few moments to learn more about the issue, considering long-term resilience and downstream impacts of the different scenarios. Then complete the survey to help your community improve flood resilience for businesses and residents. Your voice is key to creating solutions that work for everyone in the city and downstream of Davenport.
