DUBUQUE, Iowa – University of Dubuque Heritage Center continues its 2016-2017 Live at Heritage Family Series with Alexander, Who’s Not Not Not Not Not Not Going to Move, performed by New York City’s Two Beans Productions, on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 2:00 p.m. In this new musical featuring five professional actors, Alexander has just received some really bad news. His family is moving and he does not want to go.

The story comes from Judith Viorst’s series of children’s books that were turned into the 2014 feature-length film Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day starring Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner. In this fully choreographed musical theater installment of the popular book series, Alexander’s dad has taken a job in a city a thousand miles away, which means he and his family are going to have to move to a new city. Even though his mom says, "Wait, you'll like it," Alexander knows that he'll hate it. He can't bear to leave the people and places he loves, so he decides that he won't move. First, he tries to live with three different neighbors. Next, he tries to build a tent so he can live by himself. Then, he decides he'll hide so that his parents will never find him. With help from his mom and dad, and even his bossy older brothers, Alexander starts to understand that home is "where your family is, where you're with the people who love you best of all."
Alexander... is approximately 60 minutes in length and includes an opportunity to meet costumed performers in the lobby immediately following the show.
