Iowa Democratic Party dtatement on UnitedHealthcare feparture from privatized Medicaid program

DES MOINES, IOWA (March 29, 2019)  Iowa Democratic Party Chair Troy Price released the following statement in response to UnitedHealthcare's withdrawal from Iowa's privatized Medicaid program: "Make no mistake, today’s news is a result of Governor Reynolds' failed leadership and once again, Iowa families will pay the price. We’ve known all along that this privatized Medicaid experiment is a complete disaster, and now more than 425,000 Iowans who rely on this program are left with nothing but questions about the future of their health care. "Gov Reynolds should be looking for ways to expand access to health-care services, not continuing to double down on a failed program that makes it harder for Iowans to get the care they need. Democrats will continue to hold the Reynolds Administration and Republicans in the statehouse accountable for their failed policies and lack of leadership for Iowa families."
