IDP Chair sets special nominating convention

DES MOINES, IOWA (February 18, 2019) — In response to the news that Governor Reynolds selected the special election for Iowa Senate District 30 to be held on March 19th during the University of Northern Iowa’s spring break, IDP Chair Troy Price issued the following statement: "Kim Reynolds and the Iowa GOP are so desperate to increase their rule in the legislature that they’ve decided to try and silence the voices of students. This is a new low for Governor Reynolds and it’s embarrassing. "She’s betting that UNI students won’t vote. We’re going to make sure she loses that bet." Democrats will select their nominee for Senate District 30 this Saturday. The nominating convention is scheduled to convene:

Saturday, February 23 at 10AM at Black Hawk County Democratic Party Headquarters 307 E 4th St Waterloo 50703 Doors open at 9AM.

The eligible delegates to the convention are the precinct committee people from Iowa Senate District 30 who were duly elected at the 2018 precinct caucuses or the precinct committee persons who have been duly elected by the County Democratic central committee since the 2018 precinct caucuses or alternates as prescribed by the rules.
