JOHNSTON, IA - Iowa Public Television announced today the premiere of Tolkien & Lewis: Myth, Imagination & The Quest For Meaning. The program will premiere Monday, March 13 at 8 p.m. and air again Sunday, March 26 at 1 p.m.

This hour-long documentary explores the fundamental characteristics of myth, reality, ritual and imagination, and tells the story of C.S. Lewis' intellectual journey into the realm of faith, which began at a meeting with fellow author J.R.R. Tolkien.

Tolkien & Lewis: Myth, Imagination & The Quest For Meaning engages scholars from various spiritual and academic viewpoints while challenging viewers to draw their own conclusions about the meaning of life and the role that mythology and imagination play in determining belief. Scholars featured in the film include Dr. Reza Aslan, Dr. Verlyn Flieger, Dr. Rolland Hein, Dr. Christopher Mitchell, Rev. Dr. John Polkinghorne, Dr. Thomas Shippey, Deepti Tewari and Rev. Dr. Michael Ward.
