Sen. Chuck Grassley made the following comment on the announcement today that the state of Iowa is working with insurance plans and the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services on a stopgap measure to help the 72,000 Iowans who otherwise will have nowhere to buy health insurance under Obamacare this fall.

“I’ve spoken with the CMS administrator about the state of Iowa’s request.  This is a proposal to help the Iowans facing Obamacare’s unaffordability and collapse in Iowa.  There are 72,000 Iowans who will have Obamacare subsidies and nowhere to buy insurance this fall.  They need CMS to help with a stopgap measure while Congress works on a long-term solution.”
