This award is based on a points system from work through an entire year. The chapter receives points for the chapter membership and participation, projects and activities, application and receipt of scholarships, participation in the student marketing competition, and receipt of other national awards. Members of the Iowa State chapter include:
Alyssa Conway, majoring in Agricultural and Life Sciences Education of Pleasant Valley, a member
Rylee Derrer, majoring in Animal Science of Milan, a member
Rebecca Ness, majoring in Agricultural Business of Muscatine, a member
The Signature Award is based on a points system, given for achievement and involvement in several categories. First is the student chapter, with points based on an annual report which includes information about membership and participation, projects and activities. ISU NAMA has over 40 members.
Second, participation in the marketing team competition. Students act as an agency to build a marketing plan for a new agricultural product. Team members pitch the plan to judges who act as a company board of directors. This year, the Iowa State chapter's product was VFDirect, a cloud-based management tool for the veterinary feed directives (VFDs).
Third is applying for and receiving scholarships from the Agri-Business Education Foundation.
Finally, receiving other national awards. At the conference, the Iowa State chapter also received 3rd place Outstanding Student Chapter, based on an annual report of activities which showcase the chapters' many opportunities and activities throughout the entire academic year. Additionally, they received the Chapter Performance Award - Career Development, which recognizes unique ideas to encourage students and improve the chapter.
The Iowa State chapter is advised by Marcie Stevenson and Amanda Blair.
