AMES, IOWA (May 22, 2019) — Iowa State University students organized and executed their vision for the The Fashion Show 2019 at Iowa State University.
The Fashion Show 2019 Fashion Week Committee consisted of 13 students who developed and planned events for Iowa State Fashion Week, the week leading up to big runway event. The Fashion Week committee also secured sponsorships, built relationships with vendors, and worked closely with the Public Relations and Social Media committees to promote the events.
The Fashion Show at Iowa State University is one of the largest student-produced fashion shows in the country. The show features hundreds of student-designed garments both on the runway and in mounted exhibitions, with students from a wide range of majors working together on various committees to connect with the campus community, city of Ames, and alumni around the globe.
Kaitlyn Collins from Davenport, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, was a member of the Alumni and Committee Relations Committee for The Fashion Show 2019.
Olivia Fuegen from Muscatine, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, was a member of the Alumni and Committee Relations Committee for The Fashion Show 2019.
Alyssa Perales from Bettendorf, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, was a member of the Alumni and Committee Relations Committee for The Fashion Show 2019.
Rachel Larkin from Davenport, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, was a member of the Behind the Scenes Committee for The Fashion Show 2019.
Mara Claeys from Bettendorf, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, was a director of the Fashion Week Committee for The Fashion Show 2019.
Payton Conard from Geneseo, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, was a member of the Fundraising Committee for The Fashion Show 2019.
Lauren Latham from Eldridge, who is studying apparel, merchandising, and design, was a member of the Fundraising Committee for The Fashion Show 2019.
The show and related events are coordinated by students through the Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality in the College of Human Sciences at Iowa State.
