Davenport Public Works has provided the following snow update.

Crews began clearing residential roads last night. Making it through all residential roads will take time due to the volume of snow received. Efforts will continue overnight and into tomorrow.  We expect all residential roads to be cleared by late Wednesday afternoon.

In addition to residential roads, crews are removing ice pack on Posted Snow Routes and will be performing snow removal and hauling in the downtown this evening.

A 2nd Snow Emergency specific to the Downtown and Hilltop Campus will go into effect at 10pm this evening, Tuesday, November 27, and is set to expire at 6am, Wednesday, November 28. The area affected by the 2nd Snow Emergency is the area between River Dr and 5th St from Gaines to E River Dr, and Harrison St between River Dr and Locust. Residents and visitors to the downtown may park for free in any of the city’s three ramps through 7am, Wednesday, November 28.

Please continue to park off-street when you are able on residential roads to help crews clear roads more efficiently and safely.

Be reminded slick conditions are possible through the week due to melting and refreezing.  Watch for black ice and slick bridge decks.
