This afternoon, the Downtown Davenport Partnership (DDP) and Figge Art Museum, in cooperation with the City of Davenport, are hosting a joint public meeting to present a proposal that integrates public art concepts in to the design and development of the RiverVision plan and ongoing riverfront improvements. Produced in conjunction with RDG Dahlquist Art Studio, a division of RDG Planning & Design of Des Moines, the plan focuses on the riverfront portion known as Main Street Landing from Harrison to Pershing Streets.

The joint public meeting will be held in the Figge Art Museum’s Quad City Bank & Trust Grand Lobby today, Friday, February 15 at 3:00PM.

I understand there will be an area set aside for the media and an audio mult box will be available so you can take a direct feed. We look forward to seeing you this afternoon.

As we look ahead, please mark your calendar for Mayor Klipsch’s upcoming Youth Job Fair. There are two events scheduled: Thursday, February 28, and Thursday, April 4. I am attaching a copy of the poster with further details. The City of Davenport, IowaWorks, and local businesses are teaming up to provide a one-stop-opportunity for teens to apply for jobs with Quad City employers. The February 28 event is at the JB Young Opportunity Center and the April 4 event is at North High School. As you know, there is a tremendous turnout for these job fairs as local youth search for employment opportunities. Please let me know if there are any upcoming interview opportunities to profile these events.

And finally, just a reminder that Mayor Frank Klipsch will deliver the Davenport State of the City Address on Monday, February 25, at the Rhythm City Casino, 7077 Elmore Avenue. The program begins at Noon. There will be an elevated area and mult box in place for the media at this event.
