On January 18th the 1st graders in The Rock Island Milan School District attended The Ugly Ducking.  The Ugly Duckling program offers a safe, compelling, and nonthreatening way to discussing bullying.  With a curriculum built to complement and reinforce current anti-bullying programs in the schools, children have an opportunity to discuss how characters on both sides of a bullying situation feel, and how to constructively resolve issues related to bullying.  In addition, children get an interactive arts experience and an exciting first look at a live stage production.
Thank you to our 2018 Ugly Duckling sponsors:  Quad City Arts Dollar$, provided by the Illinois Arts Council Agency and John Deere, Q2030 Grants Program at the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend, Doris and Victor Day Foundation, and Rauch Family Foundation I
