August 7th-14th - The LeClaire levee and boat ramps will be closed for Tug Fest 2017.  Boaters may utilize the ramp at Green Gables in LeClaire for a small fee or the ramp at Go Fish in Princeton for free.  We appreciate your understanding, apologize for any inconvenience and hope to see you on the levee for Tug Fest August 10 - 12, 2017!

August 10th-12th - Tug Fest in LeClaire! Carnival wristband night is on Thursday, 5-10pm; $20 for unlimited rides. Parade and huge fireworks display on Friday evening. Saturday morning there is a 5K Run / 1 Mile Fun Run and kids’ tug is at 11am. The main event, tug-of-war across the Mississippi River between LeClaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois, is from 12:30-2:30pm on Saturday. $5 admission charge to the Levee on Friday and Saturday; kids 12 and under are FREE. August 12th - Civic Club Pancake Breakfast - Tug Fest Weekend.  7AM - 11AM. Pancakes, Egg Casserole, Sausage, Fresh Fruit, Juice, Coffee, and Homemade Cinnamon Rolls, all for $5 in advance or $7 at the door. Event will be at the LeClaire Civic Center. Treat yourself to a 1-1/2 hour sightseeing cruise aboard the Riverboat Twilight. These cruises will depart and return from the Port of LeClaire, Iowa. Trip includes captivating Captain’s narration and commanding views of the river, its wildlife, and quaint river towns. Cash bar and Gift Shop available. August 19th - 4th annual LIVEFIT WITH LUPUS Golf Outing Tee off time 1:30pm (registration begins at 12:30pm).  Palmers Hills Golf Course. $75 includes greens fees, cart, dinner, drinks, goodie bag and cash prizes! Supporting those with autoimmune diseases.

September 16th – Twilight Dinner Cruise – Sponsored by the LeClaire Chamber of Commerce. $45 per person, beef brisket dinner, cash bar. September 23rd - Bags-N-Brews on the Levee. 2:30-7pm $20 per person (includes Beer Tasting and Food – Excludes Tournament). $35 per player (includes Bags Tournament Entry, Beer Tasting, and Food). Beer samples from local breweries, free food, and an official bags (AKA Cornhole) tournament. There will also be live music, a silent auction/raffle, and other yard games for those not interested in the tournament.

Twice monthly, the first and third Sundays of the month, the First Presbyterian Church of LeClaire is holding "The Sunday Dinner Senior Club". Seniors and, really anyone, who prefers not to eat alone, can join us for Sunday dinner at11:45, in our fellowship hall. Dinner is dutch treat; the group decides whether to order take-out, bring a sack lunch or potluck. Join us and bring a friend.

Thursday, August 17, 4:30pm: LeClaire Community Library-Teen Advisory Group (TAG). Help plan cool events, request new library materials, eat snacks, and get the inside scoop on what’s happening at the library. Don’t forget - your attendance earns you service learning hours and looks great on college applications! For 7th grade & up.

Saturday, August 19, 10:30am: LeClaire Community Library-Storytime in the Park. Get ready to sing, dance, and play and join them for this special outdoor storytime at Hollyhock Park! Raining? Come to the library instead.

Wednesday, August 23, 6:30pm: LeClaire Community Library-Adult Book Club. This month they will be reading My Brilliant Friend by Elena Farrante Wroblewski. Books are available at the library’s circulation counter free of cost AND are now available as an eBook through our RiverShare Digital Library Catalog.

Friday, August 25, 2pm: LeClaire Community Library-Drop-In Tech Help. Bring in any device and they will give it a shot! Please arrive with passwords needed to access your device or accounts.

Saturday, September 2nd, 11:00am: LeClaire Community Library - Cooking with Chef Sheena. Learn how to make Lasagna Dip! Recipe sheets will be given out along with tasty samples. Class size limited to 18. Adults only.

Tuesday, September 5th, 6:30am: LeClaire Community Library - Storytime Kickoff. Welcome back storytime and check out our beautiful new picture book shelving! Enjoy a craft, face-painting, and balloon animals afterwards. Best for ages 3-6, though all are welcome.

Wednesday, September 6th, 3:00pm: LeClaire Community Library – Crafternoon. Come get crafty at the library! This drop-in program is fun for all ages.

Thursday, September 7th, 10:30am: LeClaire Community Library - Mini Makers. Sensory play encourages toddlers to explore and get to know the world around them. Come to the library to make a mess, have fun, and experience new things on the first Thursday of every month. This program is best for ages 10 months to 3 years.

Thursday, September 7th, 4:30pm: LeClaire Community Library - Tinker Lab Button-Making. Turn any image into something wearable and totally unique when you explore the library’s new button maker. Try some fun button-making challenges to exercise your creativity. Each participant gets 3 free buttons, and then they are $0.10 apiece. Best for ages 10+.
