DES MOINES, IOWA (August 16, 2019) – Lieutenant Governor Adam Gregg completed the nine-month Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows program, the nation’s premier bipartisan education policy fellowship. Gregg is one of nineteen state leaders from across the country who completed the program. Governor Kim Reynolds was a participant in the inaugural cohort of Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows in 2015.

“It’s a true honor to represent the state of Iowa on a national scale as part of the highly-respected Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows program,” said Lt Gov Gregg. “Iowa is renowned for a strong economy with a powerful labor market, and this fellowship’s focus on education and workforce development will only build on the progress we are seeing across the state. I have especially appreciated the opportunity to learn from the numerous former governors who actively participated in the policy discussions.”

“We’re thrilled to bring this high-achieving group of state leaders together again to further build their capacity on the most pressing issues in education,” said The Hunt Institute President & CEO Dr Javaid Siddiqi. “During the program, our Fellows are exposed to a variety of policy levers and program exemplars so that they can lead critical conversations in their states and ultimately drive change that improves educational outcomes for all students.”

An initiative of the Hunt Institute founded by former North Carolina Gov Jim Hunt, the program is a recognized leader in the movement to transform public education. Since its launch in 2014, the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows program has established a network of 90 Fellows representing 48 states and Washington DC.

Fellows currently in office include: Gov Kim Reynolds of Iowa, Gov Kate Brown of Oregon, Gov Brad Little of Idaho, Gov Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan, and Senator Catherine Cortez-Masto of Nevada.
