DAVENPORT, IOWA (March 25, 2022) — It's mostly been a heavy metal week at the ol Raccoon Motel this week, but that all changes tonight when we welcome Scott Hirsch — a founding member of Hiss Golden Messenger and an incredible songwriter in his own right — along with Skyway Man, for a truly special night of folk and gentle psych. Music kicks off at 8PM, and we would like to offer up free tickets to anyone on this Raccoon mailing list.

We are having a launch party for our cool new Motel tee-shirt, which was designed as an homage to our beloved and defunct CBA basketball team, the Quad-City Thunder. We have just a limited run of these babies and they're available tonight. Can't promise that there will be any left tomorrow. And as a second bonus — AS IF IT WERE NEEDED — we have THEE 1994 CBA championship trophy in the house, available for photos and rubbing!

A very great new show announcement comes in the form of one Ben Nichols, the lead singer of Lucero, playing two nights at the Motel, June 17-18! Tickets have just gone on sale today. McKinley James will be making his Motel debut just a few days before that, on June 11, and believe me when I say, he has the potential to make a splash. In the same vein as Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Smokey Robinson, and Raphael Saddiq, this kid is special.

Come out Saturday night for our first ever plant sale and Junk and Disorderly, in coordination with Crafted QC. Then there's bingo Monday night followed by Willy Mason (so, so good) Tuesday and Wednesday-Thursday benefit shows featuring rare solo sets by Phosphorescent, both nights! See you soon!
