DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 27, 2019) — Gilda’s Club is hosting a free workshop for anyone impacted by cancer titled “Lymphedema Workshop” on Thursday, March 7, 2019, from 6:30PM–8PM at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport, IA).

Join Beth Shelly, PT, DPT, WCS, BCB PMB, for an informational workshop about Lymphedema.

Lymphedema is swelling that occurs in one of an individual’s arms or legs and is most commonly caused by the removal or damage to an individual’s lymph nodes as part of treatment for cancer. Lymphedema can be uncomfortable, painful, change the way clothing and shoes fit, and can even affect the mobility of joints.

Workshops will include information on:

  • The Lymphatic System
  • Signs of Lymphedema
  • Symptoms of Lymphedema
  • Risk Factors of Lymphedema
  • Risk Reduction Strategies
  • Treatment Interventions
  • Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT)

Anyone impacted by cancer is welcome to attend. Registration is required.
