Iowa City, IA (May 3, 2018) - Every nurse who walks across the stage on May 6 has a story to tell. In honor of Nurses Week 2018 we hope you’ll join us to celebrate this year’s 100 Great Iowa Nurses. The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 6, at the Iowa Events Center Grand Ballroom in Des Moines.

100 Great Iowa Nurses is a nonprofit program that honors great nurses in Iowa, and funds awards to support the education of Iowa nurses. This is the 14th anniversary of the event. The celebration is an annual prelude to National Nurses Week, which begins on May 6 and ends May 12.

The complete list of nurses being honored this year can be found on our website. Nurses selected for this honor represent many sectors of health care, working as nurses in hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, and offices. They come from all practice areas in nursing, including acute care, sub-acute care, school nursing, nurse leaders, academics, and many more. This statewide event belongs to the people of Iowa, and is made possible through the generous support of our sponsors. Similar celebrations are held in FloridaLouisianaNorth Carolina, and Texas.

This celebration is a statewide event and is made possible through the generous support of both individual and corporate sponsors. Financial contributions not only support the operation of the program, but also financial education awards, which are made available to nursing students in Iowa who want to further their education.

We would like to thank the following sponsors for their tremendous support:

Event Sponsor: University of Iowa College of Nursing

Platinum Sponsors: Care Initiatives, Mercy Health Network and University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics

Gold Sponsor: Iowa Nurse Practitioner Society and Mercy Cedar Rapids
