DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 16, 2019) — Gilda’s Club is hosting a free workshop titled “Medicare Open Enrollment Workshop” on Tuesday, September 24, 6–7:30PM at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport, Iowa).
Medicare’s Open Enrollment period is October 15-December 7 this year. Do you know what to do during this time? It is recommended that everyone on Medicare check that their Part D plan is still the best plan for them. Your medications may have changed, and plans change from year to year. You don’t want any surprises, and there’s a chance that checking for a better plan could save you hundreds of dollars!
Medicare.gov states: “Remember that even if you’re happy with your current plan, things change from year to year — so it’s important to take the time to compare.”
Medicare can be a confusing subject. There are a lot of terms thrown around: Part A, Part B, Part C, Part D, Supplemental Insurance, Medicare Advantage. It can be overwhelming.
During this workshop we will discuss:
- The basics of Medicare and the different parts;
- What Medicare pays for and what does is NOT pay for;
- How to check if your Part D plan is still right for you; and
- How to switch to a new plan if needed.
