MOLINE, ILLINOIS (February 1, 2022) — Eric Sorensen, meteorologist and candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District, has announced his campaign’s strong fundraising numbers for Q4 2021. In their first seven weeks, the Sorensen campaign raised more than $109,000. Notably, Sorensen’s support comes from a broad base of 635 donors, with an average contribution of less than $160 and with 70% of contributions coming from within Illinois. Sorensen's campaign raised the most from individuals in the Democratic field.

Joe Goldberg, Eric Sorensen for Illinois’ campaign manager, issued the following statement:

“It's clear from our strong grassroots showing that IL-17 voters agree: we need a trusted, science-guided voice in Congress. People want meaningful action on climate change, affordable health-care, and bringing more good-paying, sustainable jobs to the district. Momentum continues to grow because people know their trusted meteorologist is the best choice to represent them.”
