DAVENPORT, Iowa, July 30, 2017 – Metropolitan Community Church of the QC, located at 2930 W. Locust in Davenport, invites the community to attend a special presentation by SSG Shilo Harris who will speak about his book "Steel Will: My Journey Through Hell to Become the Man I was Meant to Be". Harris will recount his journey toward manhood, beginning with a tumultuous childhood marked by his father's struggles with PTSD. He will also discuss how the tragedy of 9/11 prompted him to enlist in the Army and how he quickly found success as a Cavalry scout.

During his 2nd deployment, an IED blast left him severely wounded, killed three of his men and sent him home to a "new normal" full of hospitals, painful surgeries and skin grafts, physical therapies and medical miracles. (Please refer to attached press kit for additional information) There is no cost to attend; instead there will be a free will offering taken during his presentation. MCCQC will provide complimentary coffee and tea before and after the presentation. The doors will open by 5:00pm.

MCCQC is dedicated to providing lively worship and proclaiming God's love for ALL people. For additional information, please contact Rev. Rich Hendricks at 563-324-8281 or by email at richdhendricks@msn.com.
