Food trucks and fun on Aug. 21

Employees of Modern Woodmen of America, a fraternal financial services organization based in Rock Island, will enjoy the upcoming solar eclipse at work with food trucks through a “Thank-You Day” event sponsored by the organization.

WHAT:  Modern Woodmen employees are invited to step away from their desks to enjoy food from local food trucks and view the eclipse. Special glasses will be provided.

WHEN:  Between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The solar eclipse will occur on Monday, Aug. 21, and reach maximum impact in Rock Island at 1:14 p.m.

WHERE:  West garden area of Modern Woodmen’s home office, 1701 First Avenue, Rock Island. (Along the riverfront, near the Centennial bridge.)
