DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 28, 2022) — Local Modern Woodmen of America members are taking action to keep brain-health top of mind for the Quad Cities community. The group is coming together to honor NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley and its more than sixty dedicated volunteers for making a positive impact and spreading awareness of brain and mental health.
Modern Woodmen of America members in the Quad Cities community are recognizing NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley volunteers 11AM-2PM, Saturday, October 1, with a special “Hometown Heroes” picnic at Veterans Memorial Park, Bettendorf.
The event supports Modern Woodmen’s nationwide initiative focusing on different ways to promote brain and mental health in the community each quarter — in February, donating kindness kits; in May, educating members and the community; in August, raising funds for organizations or individuals in need; and in October, honoring those who raise awareness of brain health.
