Scholarship now offered through The Moline Foundation
 
December 29, 2017 - Jack Dye was a well known teacher and coach in Moline School District No. 40, teaching first at John Deere Junior High and later Moline High School. He loved coaching basketball, golf and tennis and enjoyed the daily challenge of engaging students in timely discussions about the social sciences. Jack was instrumental in starting the Moline Hall of Honor for Moline graduates, and recently earned induction into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
 
Applicants should apply online at www.molinefoundation.org. All scholarships must be submitted by midnight on Friday, March 16, 2018. All reference letters need to be mailed with a postmark on or before March 16, 2018. Reference letters should be mailed to: The Moline Foundation 1601 River Drive, Suite 210, Moline, Illinois 61265.
 
This scholarship is for undergraduate school expenses. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in 2018. The funds will be paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution.
 
Scholarship Candidates Must:
  • reside in the Moline School District No. 40. 
  • be a graduating senior of Moline High School.
  • have a minimum high school grade point average (2.75 on a scale of 4.0). 
  • plan to enroll in a full or part-time student in college (at least 12 credit hours per semester). 
  • show community or volunteer service. 
  • provide proof of class rank and a transcript of seventh semester courses. 
  • have school/community activities. 
  • show job or volunteer history. 
  • submit a transcript and two letters of reference (1 personal non-family and 1 that is school related from faculty members, administrators or counselors.
  • submit an essay (200 words or less) on "How has your work or volunteer experience helped form your life?"
Preference will be given to those students that have improved a letter grade.
