Scholarship now offered through the Moline Foundation

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 29, 2019) — The Lee McAllister Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2011 by his family. This scholarship honors his desire to help young people pursue education and become productive members of their community.

Each scholarship award will be $1,000 for the academic year. Scholarship funds may be applied to any component of the school's comprehensive fee, at the discretion of the financial aid office. The potential for future personal achievement by the final candidates will be evaluated by the selection committee. Only completed applications will be considered.

Requirements: Applicants should apply online at www.molinefoundation.org. All scholarships must be submitted by midnight on Friday, March 15, 2019. All reference letters need to be mailed to The Moline Foundation 1601 River Drive, Suite 210, Moline, Illinois 61265 with a postmark on or before March 15, 2019.

Scholarship Candidates Must:

  • be a graduating high school senior from Moline High School.
  • intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree on a full-time basis planning to major in education.
  • demonstrate financial need, presented through the scholarship application and information confirmed by the financial aid office of the selected college (available at the time of interview).
  • demonstrate the potential for future personal achievement, abilities, school and community activities and strong academic record.
  • have achieved high school scholastic performance with a GPA of at least 2.75.
  • submit a transcript, two letters of reference and a brief essay (200 words or less) on “Why are you entering the field of education?”
