Monmouth College Poli-Sci Prof Robin Johnson

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (November 8, 2019) — In the world of politics, one of the most important dates in the coming year is February 3, when the Iowa Democratic caucuses will be held. The caucuses are the first nominating-contest in the Democratic Party presidential primaries for the 2020 presidential election.

Monmouth College political science professor Robin Johnson will deliver a preview of the highly anticipated event on November 12 at an event sponsored by the Monmouth branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Free and open to the public, Johnson's talk will be held at 7PM in Room 273 of the College's Center for Science and Business.

"I'll be offering a history of the Iowa caucuses, why they're important, how they work, and the latest from the campaign trail," said Johnson, who, in addition to his teaching duties at Monmouth, is host of the political talk-show "Heartland Politics" on KBUR radio in Burlington, Iowa.
