“I love Moline and I want what is best for the people of Moline,” said Bob Vogelbaugh. “That is why I’m backing Stephanie Acri for Mayor.”

Today Bob Vogelbaugh formally endorsed Stephanie Acri for Mayor. Bob Vogelbaugh is a local celebrity better known as “Mr. Thanksgiving”. For the last 46 years, Vogelbaugh has hosted a wonderful free Thanksgiving dinner for anyone who is looking for a great meal and holiday companionship. Mr. Vogelbaugh filed papers for his own candidacy for mayor of Moline on November 23rd. That petition was objected to by Mayor Raes the incumbent mayoral candidate. Although Mr. Vogelbaugh was removed from the ballot due to Raes’ objection, he is still hopeful for a great outcome of the mayoral race.

“I have devoted my life to this community through my work with Thanksgiving dinner, teaching job skills to special needs and alternative school kids, owning local businesses, and working as a crossing guard for years,” said Vogelbaugh. “I had hoped to further serve Moline as Mayor but the battle was not for me. I have come to know Stephanie Acri through the objection process of both our petitions and I am supporting her 100% for mayor. I have no regrets that I won’t be mayor because I know she will be the best!”

“Some really good things have come from this challenging election process. One of my favorite things is my friendship with Bob. The legal battle was frustrating but I am grateful for Bob’s companionship through it all and I am thankful for his support of my candidacy moving forward,” said Stephanie Acri. “This community is rich with extraordinary people like Bob, making a difference in our lives every day!”

Acri is looking forward to another coffee chat session at Milltown Coffee at 7:00 AM this Friday, January 27th. The conversation will focus on our 7th Ward neighbors with special guest Mike Waldron, 7th Ward Alderman and Public Works expert, joining the discussion.
