Figge Art Museum: Scrimmage: Football in American Art looks at the evolution of the sport as seen by generations of American artists. Rather than presenting a history of the sport, the Scrimmage exhibit raises questions about sports, art, and their roles in our history and culture over the past 150 years.

Family Museum: Young visitors will become "doctors in training" at the Doc McStuffins Toy Hospital and report to an "operating room" where they can fix seams on a toy bear and assist in an "operation" on a toy dragon robot, and more starting Feb. 4 through May 15.

German American Heritage Center: 2 new exhibits opened in January including a new, multicultural exhibit featuring immigrant women of different eras.  The exhibit explores the different challenges, success, and experiences immigrant women faced in their new home.  1917: The Red Cross follows the happening of the year 1917 as well as sheds light on the Red Cross during the first World War in Iowa.

Historic Hauberg Center Open for Guided Tours

Learn more about the history of the Hauberg Center, the architecture, and the Weyerhauser family that lived there on a 45-minute guided tour. This unique historic home was built in 1909 in the popular Prairie School style. The gardens were designed by famous landscape architect Jens Jensen and are open all year. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designed by Chicago architect, Robert C. Spencer, a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright.

New Winter Senior Games

Nearly 250 athletes from around the Midwest are expected to compete in the inaugural Winter Iowa Senior Games in the Quad Cities on Feb. 24-26.  Seven sports are featured, and competition will be held in both Iowa and Illinois.  All men and women ages 50 and above are eligible to participate.  Iowa residency is not required to compete.  Sports include bowling, pickleball, shuffleboard, swimming, table tennis, indoor tennis, and an indoor track and field meet.
