DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 25, 2019) — Join us to celebrate the beginning of NaNoWriMo on Saturday, November 2, 3PM, at Fairmount. National Novel Writing Month is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that believes your story matters. They provide the structure, community, and encouragement to help people find their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds — on and off the page. One part writing boot-camp, one part rollicking party, National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) celebrates its 20th anniversary of encouraging creativity, education, and the power of the imagination through the largest writing event in the world.

Since 1999, more than 3 million writers from around the globe have signed up for the audacious act of writing 50,000 words of a novel in a month. This year, NaNoWriMo expects over 400,000 people — including over 95,000 K-12 students and educators in our Young Writers Program — to participate in our programs.

Participants will be inspired by “pep talks” penned by published authors, including Erin Morgenstern, VE Schwab, Jasmine Guillory, Maurene Goo, and Anne Lammott.

Whether you’re a best-selling novelist or a beginning writer, NaNoWriMo has always been about the magic of creative empowerment.

This event is FREE and open to the public. For more information visit www.davenportlibrary.com or call the library at (563) 326-7832.
