DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 18, 2019) — Davenport Public Library will host three free seminars by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for the friends and families of those who live with mental-health conditions. The seminars will be led by Vicki Walters, a trained professional with first-hand experience supporting a loved-one with a mental-health condition. The seminars will cover understanding diagnoses, treatment, and recovery, effective communication-strategies, the importance of self-care, and crisis-preparation strategies.

The seminars will be held at the following dates and locations:

Saturday, May 11, 2:30-4PM at Fairmount, 3000 N Fairmount St

Monday, May 20, 5:30-7PM at Eastern, 6000 Eastern Ave

Monday, June 3, 2-3:30PM at Main, 321 Main St

These events are FREE and open to the public. Free off-street parking at Main is available next to St Anthony’s Church, on the corner of 4th and Brady.
