DES MOINES, IOWA (April 17, 2019) — Registration for the Governor’s 2019 Future Ready Iowa Summit is now open until April 23 at 10AM. This year’s summit is titled “STEM Education + Workplace Partnerships.” Additional information and registration can be found at www.IowaSTEM.gov/2019STEMsummit.

The statewide event, which is open to the public, will take place on Tuesday, April 30, at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines. Employers, educators and others will come together to learn about amazing work-based learning under way across the state and how to expand those opportunities to all students. The Governor’s STEM Advisory Council is hosting the event.

Featured speakers include former astronaut Peggy A Whitson and Pallavi Verma, senior managing director US-Midwest for Accenture. Governor Kim Reynolds will announce the names of six high-poverty elementary-schools selected to receive a total of $300,000 in grants ($50,000 each) through the Computer Science is Elementary Project.
