DAVENPORT, IA – June 2017 –Gilda’s Club is starting a new Cancer Support Group for oncology healthcare professionals on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport, IA). This monthly support group is targeted toward healthcare professionals (nurses, social workers, chaplains, physicians, etc.) with any type of cancer diagnosis or who are supporting someone personally with cancer (a parent, sibling, co-worker). Members share thoughts, feelings and experiences The Oncology Health Care Professionals Cancer Support Group will meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 6:30 – 8:00 PM at Gilda’s Club. Possible discussion topics: •               Duality of treating cancer patients while having your own diagnosis, or are supporting a loved one with cancer •               Allowing yourself be the patient or personal caregiver •               Issues of self-disclosure and countertransference Anyone impacted by cancer is eligible for FREE membership at Gilda’s Club.
