DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 29, 2019) — Gilda’s Club is hosting a FREE workshop about ovarian cancer for anyone impacted by cancer. “Ovar-Come the Silence” will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, 6–8 PM, at the Davenport Public Library Fairmont Branch (3000 N Fairmount St, Davenport, IA 52804).

September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

Do you know that:

  • Most women overlook the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer
  • There are ways to reduce your risks
  • When detected early, 94% of patients live longer than 5 years after diagnosis
  • There is a risk-assessment questionnaire that women can complete to determine their risk factors

During this informative workshop, we will discuss:

  • What ovarian cancer is
  • Signs and symptoms
  • How to detect ovarian cancer early
  • Risk factors and what they mean
