DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 25, 2020) — Gilda’s Club is hosting a free workshop titled “Physical Activity and Relaxation” on Thursday, March 12, 12–1PM, at Gilda’s Club (1234 East River Drive, Davenport, IA).

Individuals may face difficulties during and after treatment knowing when and what physical activity they should participate in. Stress and anxiety may also impact daily activities, leading to the need of tools to help get into a relaxed state of mind.

This workshop will:

  • Discuss the guidelines set by the American Cancer Society for physical activity
  • Explore the benefits of physical activity
  • Provide a basic home exercise program with safe exercises
    • Created by an Occupational Therapy Doctoral Student (OTDS) and a Licensed Physical Therapist (PT, DPT)
  • Explore the benefits of relaxation
  • Discuss three relaxation techniques

Anyone impacted by cancer is welcome to attend. Registration is required. For more details and to register, please call Gilda’s Club at 563-326-7504, email gc@gildasclubqc.org or visit www.gildasclubqc.org/calendar.
