Iowa State University Scott County Master Gardeners is presenting a “Pollinators’ Palooza” event May 20 & 21 in partnership with the Putnam Museum featuring fun and education for the entire family. Basically it’s free; however there is a charge to view the “Flight of the Butterflies” movie. The event will focus on the bees; butterflies and other insects that help flowering plants produce fruits, vegetables and nuts. Hands-on activities for the kids, plant sale, speakers and lots more. The full schedule is attached along with a list of speakers and bios.

Spokesperson for the Event: Ray Wolf 563-508-8434, raywolf3rd@gmail.com

In conjunction with the event is the creation of a Pollinators’ Garden on the Putnam property at 1717 W. 12th St., in Davenport. Master Gardeners and Putnam volunteers will be doing spring clean up to prepare the space and begin planting plants that will attract butterflies and bees. The Master Gardeners designed the garden and will direct the volunteers in the preparation of the site and plantings. This will be an excellent photo opportunity. April 29 starting at 9:00 am (rain date is Sunday, April 30 starting at noon)
