Written by Director David Clevenger, an award-winning and internationally recognized director and film producer, "Buddy Guard" is a new action-packed family movie. It is a high-paced, feature length motion picture that is spiced with the innocence of child-like faith. When ex-body guard Steven Rike is persuaded to protect mentally challenged "Buddy McKenny", an assassination attempt on their lives sets in motion a cascade of drama, comedy, and adventure. Now the two must learn to cope with one another and find strength beyond themselves while being hunted relentlessly by persons unknown. Production of Buddy Guard began September 2, 2007, in St. Charles, MO. The estimated release date is January 2008.
"We are excited about shooting Buddy Guard with a predominantly local cast and crew," said David Clevenger, Director and Film Writer. "The Quad Cities offers a wide variety of interesting geography, exciting locations and a wealth of local businesses. The media in the Quad Cities has also been extremely supportive. This film, the local involvement, along with all the support will help catch the attention of other film makers and directors. It will also help raise awareness about the advantages the Quad Cities offers for future film productions. In fact, 3 Stones Studios is planning to produce 3 to 4 films a year based in the Quad Cities."
3 Stones Studios is a newly formed Quad Cities production company that offers High Definition movie production, professional video services, and media camp training. The media camps have been held in 3 states including Iowa, Illinois , and Michigan. Students ages 12 and up learn the basics of movie making and by the end of the course have produced a short film.
