Local canine organizations will showcase their goods and services

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 22, 2019) — Get to know some of the most-dedicated local dog-loving vendors and organizations at the Putnam Museum and Science Center’s free Barking Bazaar on Saturday, April 27, 11AM-3PM. Visitors can shop for their four-legged best friends and explore a variety of treats, services, and more.

“It’s a great opportunity for guests to see the many local canine-friendly services and shops in this area,” said Kim Findlay, Putnam President and CEO. “We’ll have a multitude of vendors specializing in everything canine-friendly from dog grooming to baked goods and pet portraits.”

Vendors include Freddy’s Fritters Dog Bakery AND Grooming, Francescon Portraiture, Contented Canines, Oakey’s Designs, and more.

Barking Bazaar visitors will also have the chance to meet and adopt rescue pets from King's Harvest Pet Rescue No-Kill Shelter and the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.

During the special event, visitors who purchase tickets to any of “Superpower Dogs 3D” showings will be entered to win one of three oversized plush-dogs to take home. The film will play at 11AM, 1PM, and 3PM on April 27. Tickets are $9 for adults, $8 for youth/senior/military/college students, and $5 as an add-on to museum admission.

“Superpower Dogs” follows six real-life working-dogs from around the world as well as their human partners as they brave earthquakes and avalanches, protect endangered species such as rhinos and elephants, and transform the lives of people with special needs.
