MOLINE, ILLINOIS (December 3, 2021) — Twenty-one teams will take part at an internationally based robotics competition, FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge (ages 9 to 14), hosted by the Quad Cities Engineering & Science Council at the John Deere Pavilion in downtown Moline. Teams will participate in STEM programming at the Quad Cities — Moline qualifier event of FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO® League this Saturday, December 4, 9:30AM–2PM.
Teams will present their excellence in design, programming, research and teamwork in a fun, fast-paced environment. Teams will share their research and prototypes as part of their innovation project for improving transportation to be faster, more reliable, inclusive, and sustainable. Teams will be working to qualify to receive a coveted invitation to the state of Illinois championship in January.
Teams represent students from the following communities: Brimfield (1), East Moline (3), Eureka (1), Galena (3), Geneseo (1), Manlius (2), Moline (3), Normal (1), Orion (3), Tremont (2), Williamsfield (1).
Teams will also have the opportunity to engage with business and industry professionals who will serve as event volunteers.
