What:              "APEX '17" (APEX is an acronym for Airport Mass Casualty Training Exercise) Why:               The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires that an Airport Mass Casualty Training Exercise be conducted every three years. The last exercise was held in 2014.

Who:                Quad City International Airport and Metropolitan Airport Authority Pubic Safety Department, supporting area mutual aid agencies (local fire, police, and Ambulance Services) local area hospitals, and many others.

Where:             Moulage  from 7:00 – 7:20 a.m:  Go directly to Cargo Building #2, East of Airport Terminal. Follow Signs off of I-74/Hwy 6 to Cargo.

Turn left at Airfield Maintenance and follow the frontage road and proceed East to access the Cargo buildings. Parking available in front of cargo buildings.

Media check-in 7:30 a.m: Please arrive at the Airport West End Airport Lobby, Main Terminal, inside door 1 at 7:30 a.m. Media will be escorted in an airport vehicle to the viewing area. Parking is in the short term parking lot, not along the curbside! Once you have the footage you need, you will be transported back to the terminal. (There may be a slight wait for the shuttle if we need to secure other badged personnel for escorting purposes.) Parking will be validated.

Timeline:         Volunteer Victims begin moulage and check-in at 6:00 a.m.                            7:00 a.m. volunteer briefing at Cargo 2, followed by shuttle to disaster drill site for volunteer victims.                           7:30 a.m. briefing in West End Lobby, Airport Terminal, inside door #1 for media reporters and photojournalists who would like to be  escorted to the media location for observation, filming and photography.                           8:00 a.m. (approximately) the simulated emergency will begin.                           10:30 a.m. estimated time of completion (all victims triaged and transported from site)
