August 26, 2017 at Schwiebert Riverfront Park, 100 17th Street • Rock Island, Illinois • 4:00pm until 5:30pm

Presidents of BOTH Quad Cities chapters of the NAACP will stand together with a statement. Davenport City Councilor Rita Rawson will read the Proclamation Affirming a Safe, Welcoming and Diverse Community that passed unanimously in the City on August 16th. Other speakers include Maria Bribriesco from LULAC, IA State Representative Phyllis Thede, Brandy Donaldson, Rabbi Emeritis Henry Karp, Moline mosque Imam Sa'ad Baig, and more still being confirmed.

The tone of the rally is set to support local municipalities who have passed resolutions or proclamations, like Silvis, Davenport and Moline and encourage others like East Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Eldridge, and LeClaire to pass similar language

White supremacists have been trying to recruit members in our area, and that's not what we're about!

We will have a new batch of "Welcome Neighbor" signs available for a nominal average donation of $10. Some people donate more as they can so people who can't can still get these signs. 500 have already been distributed mostly in the QCA. They are red, white and blue, in Spanish, English and Arabic and read "No matter who you are, or where you're from, we're glad you're our neighbor."

Join us in celebrating the QCA as a "safe, welcoming and diverse community"!

More information about One Human Family QCA's work, including the wording of the resolution/proclamation is available at www.OneHumanFamilyQCA.org
