SCOTT COUNTY, IA — Tell us how we are doing! The Waste Commission of Scott County and Personal Marketing Research will conduct a follow up survey on recycling in the coming weeks.  400 Residents of Scott County will be contacted by phone to participate in a brief recycling survey. This is a follow up to a recycling survey that was completed in May 2013.

The results of the 2013 survey promoted many changes in recycling in Scott County.  After 20 years of successful dual-stream recycling, the Commission updated the facility to encourage more recycling in Scott County and beyond. In July 2016, the Scott Area Recycling Center reopened as a single-stream facility, and launched the Go All In Program.

The 2018 survey is designed to help identify the needs of the community, monitor changes in recycling behaviors, and identify the best way to share information about available services in our community. The Commission owns and operates the Scott Area Recycling Center, Scott Area Landfill, Household Hazardous Materia Facility and the Electronic Demanufacturing Facility. The resulting survey data will help the Commission learn more about Scott County residents recycling needs and how to better serve the community.  Results will report on trends and help develop effective ways to deliver information about the free programs available to residents.

The Waste Commission of Scott County really appreciates residents taking the time to participate in this phone survey.

The Commission is an inter-governmental agency whose mission is to provide environmentally sound and economically feasible solid waste management.
