SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (April 27, 2019) ― Representatives Tony McCombie and Andrew Chesney, along with Senator Neil Anderson, announced that they will be holding a Graduated Income-Tax Town-Hall Meeting in Morrison the morning of Saturday, May 11.
"I really enjoy the open conversations at town-hall events," Rep McCombie continued. "This is an opportunity for constituents to hear a truly unique and in-depth financial update, ask questions of us, and to learn from each other."
"The potential to move Illinois' current flat income-tax system to a graduated income-tax is a hot topic in Springfield right now," said Sen Anderson. "I encourage all constituents to join us for this town-hall, to not only share their opinions and concerns about the topic, but also to learn about the possible effects a graduated income-tax would have on our state."
The Graduated Income-Tax Town-Hall Meeting will take place on Saturday, May 11, at the Morrison Institute of Technology, 701 Portland Ave, Morrison, Illinois.
"Illinoisans are overtaxed and underserved by their state government. The Super-Majority is busily selling the notion of a graduated income-tax benefitting the middle-class," said Rep Chesney. "Please join us to learn more about this proposal and provide our feedback on this latest tax-and-spend proposal. It will be a great discussion about an important issue and your input matters."
Admission is FREE, families are welcomed, and light refreshments will be served. No RSVP is required. Event begins at 9:30AM and will last approximately one hour. Doors open at 9AM.
