I am determined. I am courageous. I am a survivor.

Join us as we rise up against sexual abuse in our communities. The annual Rising Up Against Sexual Abuse luncheon will be held Friday, October 12, at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center. Doors open at 11 a.m. with the program beginning at noon.

We know that a survivor’s story is about so much more than their abuse. This year we welcome our first male keynote speaker, William Kellibrew, a survivor of multiple traumas. After witnessing the murder of his mother and brother a young age and surviving sexual abuse, William went on to become an international advocate for survivors of violent crimes and a speaker on overcoming trauma.

The Rising Up luncheon will feature a raffle, lunch, and program. UnityPoint Health -Trinity is generously returning as the exclusive matching sponsor of this luncheon. Tickets are $35 per person or $280 per table of 8. Register at www.famres.org/calendar or by calling 563-468-2140. Don’t forget to share the Facebook Event with family and friends.

Funds raised during this event benefit our comprehensive services offered to survivors of abuse in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. In 2017, our Survivor Services Department assisted more than 10,000 individuals and their families.
