On May 3, 2018, at the Kirkwood Regional Center at the University of Iowa in Coralville, Iowa ITEC (Iowa Technology Education Connection) sponsored its eastern student technology fair. Several QC area students who participated in the Rivermont Collegiate Technology Fair in April were eligible to present their projects at the event.

We are excited to announce that Rivermont 5th grader, Abigail Johnson won a Purple Ribbon for her project the Smart Mirror and is invited to the ITEC Fall Conference in Des Moines. Abigail also received a Blue Ribbon for her project.

The following students also presented their project at the May 3rd event:

  1. Hadil El-Geneidy*, grade 6, Blue Ribbon
  2. Nick Gorbach, grade 1, Blue Ribbon
  3. Liam Mann*, grade 1, Red Ribbon
  4. Abigail Sweeney*, grade 2, Blue Ribbon

*Denotes Rivermont Collegiate student.

ITEC sponsors the Student Technology Fair for PK-12 students, providing students with the opportunity to showcase their technology skills and projects. Based on rubric scores, students are awarded ribbons for the quality of the project and presentation to judges. Exemplary entries are invited to present the projects at the ITEC Fall Conference in Des Moines.
