BETTENDORF, IOWA (August 5, 2026) — Rivermont Collegiate is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Wiley as Interim Head of School for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The appointment followed a selection process that included candidate videos and community input. The Board of Trustees received valuable feedback from families, faculty, staff, and stakeholders and was impressed by the caliber of candidates attracted by Rivermont's reputation as one of the Midwest's premier private STEM schools.
"We are excited to welcome Richard Wiley to the Rivermont community," said Board of Trustees President Joe Rives.
"His extensive leadership experience, commitment to academic excellence, and global perspective align closely with Rivermont's mission to prepare students to lead and succeed in an increasingly interconnected world."
Wiley brings more than 27 years of educational leadership experience to Rivermont. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Texas Tech University; a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas State University; Texas Superintendent Certification; and an Educational Specialist (EdS) in Educational Leadership from North Central University.
Throughout his distinguished career, Wiley has served as both a private-school principal and a superintendent in domestic and international settings. His leadership experience spans the United States, China, and the United Arab Emirates, where he has led initiatives focused on academic rigor, student achievement, faculty development, family engagement, and institutional growth.
Wiley has pioneered the development of Lorsey, an AI-driven personalized learning platform designed to support individualized student learning and achievement. As Interim Head of School, he will lead the program, leveraging his extensive educational leadership experience to advance innovative teaching and learning throughout the school.

Richard and his wife, Daisy Wiley, will live on the Rivermont campus and become active members of the school community.
