Lauren Schroeder, a senior at Rivermont Collegiate, was born with only 20% blood supply and had to be given blood to survive. In 2017 she was diagnosed with Chronic Anemia and Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome. She will require blood to managing these diseases for the rest of her life.

For her senior project, Lauren is hosting a blood drive at Rivermont Collegiate. Her goal is to have enough donors to get a scholarship which she plans to donate to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa.

The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will be at Rivermont Collegiate on Friday, September 14, 2018, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. to conduct the blood drive. Registration is open to the entire Quad Cities community. Students 16 and older (with parent permission) can also sign up to give blood.
