$12,000 for local military family support

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (November 18, 2019) — The Rock Island Arsenal Chapter of the Association of the United States Army (RIA AUSA), will be hosting a Day of Giving event at Schnucks Fresh Foods, 858 Middle Road, Bettendorf, Iowa, Sunday, on November 24, 2019, 6–8PM. The event requires pre-registration and is not open to the general public.

In combination with generous sponsorship from Russell Construction and Development, Schnucks Fresh Foods, and the support of Community Partners, the RIA AUSA Chapter will be providing $100 Schnucks gift-cards to 126 military families, with 6 families added as a result of additional Schnucks sponsorship. They will provide a complimentary 10-12 pound turkey to each participant.

The purpose of the event is to demonstrate gratitude for service to country for veterans, National Guard, Reserve, and Active Duty soldiers and their families by providing them an opportunity to personally select meal items for the Thanksgiving Holiday.
